Who we are

QuiltMap ("we", "us", "the site") operates the directory at quiltmap.com. Our contact is /contact.

Information we collect

Automatically collected

• Server logs — standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, pages visited, referrer, timestamp) kept up to 90 days.
• Analytics — Google Analytics for aggregate traffic (page views, session duration, rough geographic region). Cookies as described below.
• Advertising — We may display ads from Google AdSense, which uses cookies and web beacons to serve relevant ads. See Google's ad policies.

You provide voluntarily

• Location search — When you enter a ZIP or address in our "Search Near" box, we send it to our self-hosted geocoding server to find latitude/longitude. Your location is not stored or linked to your identity.
• Browser geolocation — If you click "Me" to find listings near you, your browser asks your permission to share coordinates with this page. We use them only for the current search and do not store them.
• Listing submissions — If you submit a business listing via /submit, we collect the details you provide (name, address, contact info) for inclusion in our directory.

Cookies

Cookies are used for:

• Analytics — Google Analytics drops `_ga` and `_gid` cookies to distinguish visitors.
• Advertising — Ad networks may drop cookies to personalize ads and limit repeat impressions.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies does not affect your ability to browse QuiltMap.

Third-party services

• OpenStreetMap — Maps are powered by OpenStreetMap contributors. Tile requests send your IP to OSM servers as part of normal browsing.
• Google Maps — "View on Google Maps" links take you off-site to Google Maps; their privacy policy then applies.
• Google Analytics / AdSense — Google's privacy practices apply to data collected through these services.
• Google Fonts — We load web fonts from Google, which sees your IP address as part of font delivery.

How we use information

• Operate and improve the site
• Aggregate anonymized analytics to understand usage
• Show you relevant ads (where ads are enabled)
• Respond to listing submissions and support inquiries

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

Server logs: 90 days. Analytics: per Google Analytics retention settings (we use the default). Listing submission contact info: indefinitely, to follow up on your submission or verify listing ownership.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Contact /contact to exercise these rights.

Children's privacy

QuiltMap is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective on publication. Meaningful changes will be announced on the homepage or by email if we have contact info for you.
